A Picture...Of The Place I'd Most Like To Visit

I'm beginning a post called "A Picture..." which will basically be me sharing a picture/pictures (it will probably be more than one because i can never decide) on things like for example today will be A Picture...Of The Place I'd Most Like To Visit. I'm not sure where I came up with the idea from or if someone else is doing it on their blog! If you guys have any suggestions of what I could do for "A Picture..." for future posts, then let me know! I'd love some ideas!

So today's "A Picture...Of The Place I'd Most Like To Visit" is Los Angeles! I've been to America once, I went to New York which was brilliant but I'd really love to go to Los Angeles. Holidays were spent in France, Germany and Spain. Such a beautiful place and I love the mix of the beach and the sea, then the mountains and the city. My brother is currently travelling around Australia, New Zealand then off to Fiji.  After Fiji he's doing a trip around America which I'm extremely jealous off. I think hes going to LA, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas and then to New York! I've posted before about my fascination of the Hollywood Sign so I'd like to see that in real life. I know it's such a cliche and people always say how underwhelming it is, but i just like the concept of it. Have any of you guys visited Los Angeles? Where's the place you'd most like to visit?

Hollywood Infected Your Brain

When 'The Hills' first aired I thought "i love this programme it's so bad it's good" and Lauren's adventure into the fashion world was actually quite educational for someone interested in pursuing a career in fashion (especially working at a magazine, like I'd like to do) Then it just turned into this weird programme where suddenly these girls were covered in make-up, moving up the career ladder to easily and just damn right fake. But along with everyone else I carried on watching it, and loving it, and the bad press that also came a long with it. Then it struck me, do I blame them? If my every move was being followed on camera then yes I'd want to look perfect everyday, I'd shift that extra a weight and to be honest I would probably get a better job. The Teen Vogue offices where Lauren worked was obviously going to give her the better perks of the job because it would be aired on TV and show life in Teen Vogue, the same with People's Revolution (but I reckon Kelly Cutrone wouldn't mind firing Lauren if she did something wrong!) The same as everyone is criticising Lauren for bringing out her own fashion line, as it's just another celebrity line. I hate celebrity lines as much as the next person but what people seem to forget is that Lauren has a degree in fashion design and even if her clothes are shit, she has the same right and should have the same respect as other 'designers' who graduated from FIDM. Her criticism should be based on the design not the fact that she's a reality star. (same goes for Whitney)
I don't blame these girls for trying to make money from any product, no one would ever take them seriously in a 'normal' 9-5 job and at the end of the day their the ones laughing their way to the bank. I'm not saying that every girl should inspire to do this as their lives may be blessed in some ways but cursed in other. Women have the freedom to do what they want and who they want to be. Some want to have a successful career, some want to stay at home raising a family, some want both, and some want to have lives like these girls. At the end of the day they shouldn't be judged as ultimately we created the whole 'celebrity' scene and are continuing to fuel it!

I'd love to hear your guys thoughts and comments on this!

I have a huge fascination with the Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles. It's a symbol for dreaming big and aiming high. Now I know Hollywood is quite a fickle place but the sign represents the film industry. There's nothing better than watching a film and escaping into that world, almost like a fantasy. The sign reminds us that this whole Hollywood world is a fantasy, almost like a film.

They were threatening to take down the Hollywood Sign in April this year but Hugh Hefner stepped in and payed for it to be kept. This whole Hollywood sign rescue subject got me thinking about playboy and the playboy mansion. Hugh Hefner is apparently facing threats that he'll have to sell his playboy mansion. I don't know about you but I kind of have soft spot for Playboy. It was slightly ruined by British chavs who were plastered in make up and just an awful representation of a young woman today ( think Katie Price ) but the real playboy woman is sexy but in an understated way. It's about celebrating the woman. They never have any nude photographs on the cover. It was done in quite a tasteful way and you'd be surprised who's actually done playboy! (Debbie Harry a.k.a Blondie was a playboy bunny) so I've chosen a selection of Playboy covers and I'll let you make your own mind about Playboy. I think it's every woman's choice to be as sexually provocative as they want to be and they should not be judged.
