(I wish more Vogue covers were like this, Love a full body shot. January 2004-Natalia Vodianova)

Blown Away

Literally blown away by this Vogue Cover, I absolutely love it!

Just A Thought...

I was reading Vogue's January Issue and saw Georgia Jagger's shoot. I loved the shoot and all the shots but I couldn't help but see a resemblance between Georgia and a young Jordan/Katie Price. Now before I go on I'd like to point out that I am not a fan of Miss Katie Price, and I do not consider her to be a 'clever business woman' for getting payed to get her kit off. Maybe I am delusional, but i saw the resemblance because of the dark eyebrows and gapped tooth. I'm talking of the very very early modelling pictures of 'Jordan' before her nose job/lipo/12th boobjob/botox etc. etc. Do you see the resemblance in the pictures I've chosen or am I crazy? I think Georgia is gorgeous and shows how maybe Katie Price could have looked like if she hadn't had so much surgery!

No more posts on Katie Price after this, Promise!

Christmas Eve

So the big day is tomorrow. Christmas is a little bitter-sweet as I think it can be a happy time for most but also a sad time. To celebrate Christmas the fashion way, here's a look back at the last ten years of Vogue December Issues.

December 2000
Kate Moss shot by Nick Knight. I love the cover with the silhouette, reminds me of the old Vogue Covers

December 2001
Another Kate Moss cover shot by Nick Knight. Love love love how clean the cover is and the red really stands  and Kate looks so different from usual.

December 2002
Elton John and Liz Hurley shot by Mario Testino. I love this cover  as it' so fun and i love the use of the piano. This screams Christmas!

December 2003
A very young looking Kylie Minogue shot by Nick Knight. I love how she's sat in a champagne glass/chair. This cover is very millenium 2000's with the use of silver.

December 2004
A big fan of Sienna Miller so I love this cover shot by Mario Testino. I think the colours purple and silver work really well together and the pantomime font they have used.

December 2005
Gwyneth Paltrow shot by Regan Cameron for a very non festive christmas issue. The december issue is all about glitz and glamour and Vogue have failed to impress with this cover.

December 2006
To celebrate Vogue's 90th birthday, a collection of different covers. I love the concept and the way it turned out, celebrating both old and new covers.

December 2007
Sienna Miller once again shot by Nick Knight. I love this cover with the use of silver and the text chosen. This is my favourite christmas cover and by far the most festive.

December 2008
Kate Moss by Nick Knight. I love the colours used and the romanticism of it all. Kate looks beautiful and I love that the cover folded out to create a bigger picture.

December 2009
Lara Stone shot by Mario Testino. I love the colours used with the white black and pale pink but the one thing that really bothers me about the cover is that Lara's corset is too tight for her and it barely covers her *ahem* assets. This could have been stunning if it had been tight right size.

December 2010
I really dislike this cover. I find Emma Watson, shot by Mario Testino, irrelevant and a girl who got lucky. I dislike her hair and there's too much going on, on the cover. Too much text and too much gold. Vogue's November issue would have been a stunning choice for a cover. You can see that here

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and that Santa brings you what you wanted! For today's Friday Song, something festive. This is my favourite Christmas song ever! I love the lyrics!

"Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby do you recognise me?
Well it's been a year, it doesn't surprise me

(Happy Christmas!) I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying "I Love You" I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now I know you'd fool me again"

Helena Part Une

I'm sure a lot of people were shocked when Helena Bonham Carter made Vanity Fair's Best Dressed List (Helena included) but I love Helena's bonkers style. I think she's a great actress (my favourite character of hers is Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter) and the fact that she's married to Tim Burton makes her even more interesting. He's created some of the weirdest films ever! I've chosen some pictures of Helena that really show off her beauty and amazing figure. I've also included the shoot she did with Tim Burton for Vogue a few years ago with one of my favourite photographers Tim Walker. I'll do another post on Helena's Street and Red Carpet style later on in the week!

Classic Vogue

Take a look at some of these classic Vogue Covers. I love that they use to illustrate covers, I love fashion photography but this concept is really interesting. I wonder if Vogue would ever do an illustrated cover again, maybe for an anniversary issue! What do you think of these covers? I love the art deco feel, art deco style art is one of my favourite types of art.

She's a Lady

The amazing Abbey Lee Kershaw in Vogue Germany August. She is one of my favourite 'modern' models.

Disappointed

So these are the images the fashion world has thrown at us today! Olivia Palermo for Mango, alongside her model boyfriend. The first shot looks photoshopped to the max and makes Olivia look almost unrecognisable. I do really like the second shot as it makes Olivia look a little different and more like a model! Can't wait to see the other shots! Olivia should wear red lipstick more often, it really suits her!

I could not be more disappointed with Vogue's choice of a cover star. To me Emma Watson isn't an exiting actress or a star. She was extremely lucky to be part of The Harry Potter Franchise and even more lucky to have people like Karl Lagerfield throwing Chanel clothes at her left right and centre. I really hate her hair this short and the shot is a cliche version of Twiggy. I think it's predictable with her new short hair. Vogue did a really good cover last year with Lara Stone and though that was more appropriate for a December cover. I'm sure the rest of the Issue will be great!
